I have a 1993 Ford Explorer 4.0 XLT. My spark plugs are fuel fouling on the passenger side of the engine. Does anyone know if the Electronic Engine Control (EEC) will cause this? All three plugs on the passenger side of the engine are fuel fouling.

Maybe depends on exactly what you mean by "EEC": Are you referring to the main computer only, or to the entire engine management system (computer and associated sensors/actuators). While the main computer could certainly be at fault, it isn't the first thing I'd look at.

Does your '93 have one or two O2 sensors? If you have dual O2 sensors, I'd probably first look at the right/rear O2 sensor (which controls the feedback loop for the right bank of cylinders). If you only have one O2 sensor, I might first look at the passenger bank of injectors/wiring to make sure they aren't stuck open.

In either case, the first step I'd probably take would be to pull codes from the computer to see if the computer has anything intelligent to say.
