I'm sort of an expert on this problem as I am on my 4th windshield. The first was factory defective with defects in the layers in
between. The second was cracked by a rock. The third lasted 2 hours! While adjusting the mirror it cracked. The mirror was loose on mine as well and the Ford dealer replaced it. Now no problem with looseness or windnoise. It seems that when it is replaced the mirror will not fit tight on the window again.
Also, we won't go into the crappy MFT. I look myself in the mirror daily thinking why did I buy a first year model built in the first week :>(
