- 2013 Explorer XLT 4wd
Ok so Boris, my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, served me well. After 200k miles, it is time he retire. On June 29th, 2012, I ordered a Kodiak Brown XLT 4wd Explorer.
While I don't have it yet, I figured I might as well get to know some folks around here. If ownership of the yet to be named Explorer follows my previous vehicle habits, I am going to be here for a while.
Saw some interesting and useful threads on the paint and tire choices from the google that led me here. Seems like a group of helpful and intelligent folks. Hopefully I can contribute as well.
Other Fords:

That is about it. I'll post some pictures of the new vehicle when it gets here. Questions are welcome.

Other Fords:
- I owned a 1997 Escort from 1997 - 1999 (loved it).
- I owned a 1995 5.0 Mustang Convertible from 2001-2008 (my wife's but I drove it for a while after we had a kid)
- Grew up in a family that had a 1974 Ford Econoline Van with fond memories (me not the van - I have no proof of it's sentience)
- Aspire to some day buy a 4x4 Sportsmobile based on the E350EB but don't have $110k to spend at the moment
About my driving habits / anticipated use:
- I usually work out of the house so it will be parked a lot. 3-4 days a week, I suspect it doesn't move at all.
- From November to June / July I go to Mammoth Mountain, CA skiing. 4wd is mandatory for part of that time. This will be my primary vehicle for that.
- I'll put a Yakima cargo box on the roof for skis.
- Got the tow package just for the hitch receiver so I can put one of those bike racks in it.
