I am new to the forum, so I hope I am in the right section. I have a 1997 Explorer, xlt, 4x4, limited slip, with a problem code of 1780 which supposed to be the overdrive button. It stays in overdrive all the time. The button to take it out of overdrive does not work. They also said that I had a problem code of 1127 which is supposed to be oxygen sensor. I have the sohc engine, and I looked under the car, and there are two o2 sensors before the cats, and there is one sensor after the cat?? How do you know which one is throwing the code? What is the most usual problem with the overdrive button?

Hi and welcome to the forum.


The overdrive button it's self, has a plastic ring around that you carefully pry off.
