i thought explorers have 31 spline axles... not the 28..... i think the older 8.8 used a 28 spline

The 28's are for the Rangers I thought.

I am waiting for this one...
I thought Rangers (less the FX4) had a 7.25 rear, I am not sure though... I had read that the 28 spline were used on Mustangs... I have been watching the sights (namely reider) for more info on the OX and e-lockers. I can't wait.

they show one for the 31 spline also. i didn't notice a price... but i didn't really look either.

I was about to say the same thing...looks like they have one for the 31 spline...

Here are some facts to dispell the questions.

1) ALL Explorers are 31 spline.
2) All non-FX4 Rangers are 28 spline.
3) All non-4.0L Rangers have Ford 7.5" axles.
4) All 4.0L Rangers have Ford 8.8" axles.

The OX, E-Locker and ARB are all pretty much the same.

All will have something that can be torn out or fail which locks the axles together.

I'm going to call today and get a price for you guys.

Currently, there is no oxlocker available for the 8.8, and the ARB seems to be very expensive, complicated, and unreliable.

Reider Racing doesn't actually have them right now but he said when he gets them they will be right around $695.

So it's more expensive than the ARB locker itself.

However you don't need a compressor to operate it.

However the compressor gives you OBA.

I guess it's a toss up.

I've never seen anyone with an ARB have a problem.
