94 and 98 Rangers
I am a new member who might need some advice. I have been switching vehicles around. I had and just sold a 98 Ford Explorer w/240,000 miles. It left still running good. I sold a 1995 Mazda Truck and purchased 2 Ford Rangers. I also have a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer AWD. My brother just bought a 1999 Flex fuel Ranger - now he has 2 Rangers. We seem to be in a competition. Anyway, I think I got a good deal because I bought the 2 Rangers in a package deal. Paid $3500 for a 1994 and 1998 Ranger - they are both 4x4 Extended Cab XLT. The 94 is automatic with 138,000 miles and the 1998 is a 5 speed manual w/ 161,000 miles. I think that they are both 4.0 engines. Neither has any body damage or rust. My problem - I only want to insure 2 vehicles and I need to keep the mountaineer. I bought both the rangers thinking that I would see which one I liked better and sell the other one. I seem to prefer the 1994. It is more of a workhorse. The 1998 is cuter and sportier as it is a stepside but not as "tough" as the 1994. It also needs the rear shackles replaced and the muffler reattached. Which would you sell and how would you price them since they were purchased as a package?

welcome

Sell the '98. I would fix it's problems and ask $3500 for it. If you sell it for $2500 then you got the other truck for under $1500.
