It shouldn't. It's bolted tight to the block. If anything was to give out when using the impact gun, it would be the bolt, it would just snap off. One of the bolts on the passenger side gave me trouble. I had to let the air compressor build up pressure and dial the impact as high as I could but it loosened up. If you're really worried about that, you could have a buddy hold a torch to the flange, even propane or mapp gas. That or soak it in PB Blaster for as long as possible beforehand.
