    Hey hey...

Today I got the key to the X and signed the title... Still waiting on the cash to come in though so it can be 100% mine...

I was talking to the guy selling it to me while I drove the X to the bank and he mentioned that before he told me the high range 4wd doesn't work... but he discovered the high works fine, just the indicator light doesn't come on... The LOW range, however, does not work, and the indicator light DOES come on...

I'm not sure how often I'll NEED low range, but it would be nice to have working when the need arises... Any ideas for what could be going on?

:redexp: :D :exp:  :exporange :yelexp:

no idea whats going on but i'm guessing that your truck is a 91-94 because of the high and low. on my '95 i use the 4x4 all the time but its not true 4x4, the computer justifies the front tire/rear tire ratio power depending on the surface (e.g. snow, ice, water). I use that option all the time and never use the full 4x4 so you might want to make sure thats what you want. just an idea. :D

Arent you affraid of wearing down your system by using the 4x4 even if it`s not the full one ?? cause the manual it says that it is preferable not to use it on dry pavement.

    to put it in 4LO
    you must
    put it in neutral
    have the 4x4 high on
then put it in 4x4 LOW
then you can put it in drive

that`s it, Elite and if you feel that you have prob when turning on dry pavement it means that your 4x4 is on.

I have a 91 XLT... I don't know why he thinks it's not working... but if he thinks it's not working, it might be something to think about...
