I think that my winter project is going to be my Bimmer. It is in pretty bad shape right now, but I think that with a couple grand, and some time, I can help her out of her funk. The major things it needs is a new top, and some new leather on the seats (and maybe a carpet kit, dunno). Then there is a bunch of smaller stuff. One of the smaller things is a dash cap. It has developed a pretty good wrip on the top of the dash, but there isn't any need to go through the PITA of completely removing the dash and replacing with a new one.

This leads to my first p-shop request. I can get the cap in black or tan. I am pretty sure I am just gonna stick with black, but if I could see what tan would look like, I may go that route. Pic 1 below is off the current dash, and Pic 2 is a cap, and shows all that it covers.

Pic 3 is the sad sad state of the current front seats, the back is just as bad. After 13 years of drying up in the sun and all that good stuff, the leather is officially shot. So new leather for the seats, but I can get them in all tan, black with tan centers, or tan with black centers. I think the black with tan centers may look good, but I am not sure, and if it sucks, that is a $700 mistake. So, if any of you pros can give me a couple of examples of what the different combinations would look like, I would really appreciate it.

*ps- no jamest or rainbow pics yet, I would like to see some real stuff first.............then have a field day with them! :D

    KickAss, thanks fenderguy!!!

That doesn't look half bad. I also have to get another radio/hvac bezel (cut the old one up for the eq), so if I maybe dye/paint it to match to the dash cap, that whole setup might not look bad at all!

    Thanks Again!!!

Anyone want to take a whack at the seats?

So, continuing with Fenderguy's theme, with the added painted-to-match radio bezel, produces a before/after like this (in MSPaint):

I really dig this look, and if I became convinced that I could get paint to match the cap, I may very well go this route. I have to replace the shifter boot also (dried up), so if I did that in tan, that would be even more to highlight the tan over the black.

Anyone else wanna take a whack at the seats?
