I have a 99 explorer Eddie Bauer 4wd. Looking at new leaf springs and shocks. The prices I see at lmc, suspension king, and detroit range from $100 each to $190 each (although the detroit are for a heavier 1266 lbs instead of the standard1100 lbs. But I wouldn't think that would nearly double the price).
So I'm wondering what the difference would be. Is it just markup? Different kind of steel, thicker leaves, longer leaves (except for the first leaf of course)?
Also, is there a standard set of additional parts that I should replace with the leaves (bushings, ubolts, spring seats, spring hangar, etc.)? Or just replace whatever breaks when I take it apart.
