I recently had my power steering go out on my 2000 Ford Explorer Limited Edition 5.0
It all a sudden stopped working and I can see where the leak is coming from. Can I just replace the one line that is leaking or do I need a whole new pump. Also will it hurt the vehicle to drive it w/o PS temporarily? Thanks!!

If it appears the leak is due to a cracked hose, then by all means just replace it. Refill with fluid and test drive it. You will most likely have introduced air into the system, so you'll need to expel that by either turning the steering wheel lock to lock several times with engine running...or, do the "figure 8" routine in a parking lot. If the pump is noisy after all this, then yes, it's damaged and you'll need to replace it.

As for driving it without fluid...don't do it! Keep adding fluid or park it if you can't get to the repair right away.
