I had this happen to a friend of mine. He got stuck crossing a small stream in the beach. By the time he got back with help the tide had come in and his rig had "gone to sea"
They had to wait till the next mornings low tide to actually retrieve the vehicle. Needless to say the insurance company totalled it.

Oh god, did you watch the video? It's painfull... Granted, I'm sure at that point, with water damage and all the airbags deploying, the truck's totalled, but still! I'm wondering if the side airbags went off because the waves made the truck think it was about to roll?

I just can't believe they all sat there in the truck, drinking beer:chug:, unaware they were about to float out too sea.

One could only hope. I know if that happened to my X, if I wasn't drinking before, I surely would afterwards!

Heh...I wish I could've driven that far into the beach. I tried that with my truck a couple of years ago and got stuck a little after entering the entrance. Found out it was a bad shift motor.
