    could someone please help? Where is the vent solenoid located on my 1999 ford explorer EB edition?

    Are you talking about the the one for fuel vapors, Drop the spare tire, you should see a black plastic cover, drop the cover and you will see some canisters, hoses and a valve with wires going to it. Mine was XL2Z9F945AA. I got mine local, it was $99. I have a 2000XLT with a lot of 99 parts due to early build date. IF this is the one you are looking for.

    As stated above, drop the spare, looking behind the fuel tank on the driver's side, you will see a contoured plate, secured with three bolts. Drop that plate, the EVAP canister is there, and the valve is stuck into the side of the canister. There should be a wiring connector (check this, it is often the problem), and two hoses. The hoses have a squeeze type connector...just squeeze and work them loose.
