Hello, so I bought the haynes manual for my explorer, I know that my engine is the SOHV (92 explorer xlt stock). In the manual, is it refereed to as the v-6 push rod engine? Also it doesn't directly say anything about setting tdc for removal of the heads. However I have been told other wise elsewhere. Does tdc matter if im just replacing the head gasket?

thanks
-Jake

You have the OHV... There is no SOHV, just a SOHC or OHV. The push rod v6 would be a more accurate description, but its know as the OHV.

No, TDC doesn't matter.. its a push rod engine.. the timing chain does not go up to the head as the crank and camshaft are both in the block.
