2015 Explorer Limited
I bought my used Explorer Limited in May 2016 with 11,000. I now have 42,000 miles on it & only drive train warranty at this point. About 6 months ago I had an issue where it would not start, let it sit for a little bit then it started. Again, at random had the same issue, multiple times but would always start after sitting 5-15mins. Attempted to reset the signal to key FOB by placing in area in console..nothing. I then replaced FOB batteries, started a day or 2 then wouldn't start. Replaced battery & cleaned all terminals started everyday for 2 months then 1 day would not start. All the lights on dash come on, everything seems ok, no warnings pop up but will not turn over & start. I have had it to 2 mechanics but once it gets to shop it will start. The last mechanic was a Ford tech for years, he replaced push button start as a possibility because it only throws some soft error codes. He started it for 2 days with no problems went to pick it up & tried to start it & guess what...did not start!! He told me he was stumped & I should take it to Ford but I cannot afford to just guess & throw money at this vehicle like the 1st Ford mechanic wanted to do. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciate!

This sounds like the issue I had on one of my earlier Explorers. After numerous repair attempts it turned out to be a bad ground cable, not at the battery end though. Replaced it and never had an issue again.

It could well be a bad ground seeing as how you've already replaced the battery.
