I have a 2002 Explorer the rear hatch periodically will just pop open.
When this happens there is a noise just like when you press the remote button or the button near the rear number plate, the information panel then says the lift gate is ajar. This has happened ever scince the vehicle was new. The Ford dealer turned off the auto door locking system when the vehicle was new to fix these problems. Also periodically the doors will all lock if you stop on the side of the road & get out of the vehical with the engine running & park selected. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
The vehicle also looses 4x4 & flashes up a code on the 4x4 light of 3 flashes but the ford dealer says there are no logged codes when this happenes I can not select 4x4 hi
