I am planning on making a heavy duty offroad bumper for my 97 mountaineer when i realized i could make it to used the original bumper mounting holes as well as the rear receiver mounting holes.
I am planning on using a piece of 6.5"x8" tubing with either a 1/4" or 3/8" wall
Would it be safe to build a receiver tube into or onto it?
I'm only concerned that it might cause damage to the frame if i pull a 5000 or 6000lb load.
Pictures would be greatly appreciated if anyone has done something similar to this.
