The rear upper shock mounts snapped in half. A repair has been attempted but it snapped again. Currently it is being held together by two bolts with a piece of aluminum. After off roading the bar loosened and started sagging again and this is when I figured out the shocks were blown so i jacked up the bar straighter and bought some cheap auto zone shocks for now. How can I replace this bar or fabricate it to become strong again? https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4HV0lsOCubEQ1ZNUGVoWmRrY0d2NUhhdW9jbHdMVE1GZWJz

Google won't let me in to look at your pics.

Timing is everything, I just crawled out from under the XLT before I read this, Had I seen this I would have looked specifically at this for you.

BUT on my 4dr xlt I think that when I was back there I saw that the upper rear shock mount went clear across from frame to frame and bolted to the both frames. I might be wrong and it might be different for the sport. I'm sure someone else will correct me if I'm wrong.

But if I'm right you should be able to either order a new one, find one at a junk yard or pull the old one and weld it together.

If I could see your picture I could tell you if it looked the same as mine

I'll try and fix the picture

nope that is completely different than on the 4DR. Still it looks like it is bolted to the frame on the driver's side (so probably on the passenger side as well). If it is take it off and has someone weld it up or better yet weld a plate across it. Looks like a pretty easy weld to someone who has never struck and arc himself.

I know what I'd do, I don't know if it's what you'd do.

I would weld or bolt a piece of 3 mm wall 3"x3" square tube in there.

I would probably change that formula if I saw it in real life but I've never even seen a Sport IRL let alone checked out the suspension.
