I have a couple of updates. First off thanks to Kris, Russell, Justin and Mike, I now have my fuel pump issue fixed. I had a clogged fuel filter, a dirty sock, and a bad fuel pump, which in the case of the pump, died at the meet. Kris let me have one from a spare tank, and after buttoning it all up again, we found out that pump was bad too. So $100 later for a new pump and a lot of great help, my fuel issue is fixed. :)

Russell also installed my Sony head unit and got my steering wheel controls to work. The whole system now sounds amazing! He also swapped spares with me so now i have a matching wheel. Thanks Russell!

And finally, I switched out radio bezels with one Kris had laying around so I now have wood grain one.

I got more than I expected done at the swap and had so much fun installing the 5.0 in the trac. Thank you guys for inviting me along. :D

It really wasn't bad at all I started out with half a tank and got there with an eighth. As far as just the drive, even with 31s I had no trouble doing 75 on the highway. All in all Red Bull performed very well. :D

dan, i was more than happy to help yea out, still dont know how much i actually did though, lol. As far as the head unit, i have a present for you :D

to those that may not know, Red Bull started off as an Eddie Bauer, meaning it was wired for a long center console with message center and rear audio controls. Kris removed that console and installed a short center console, meaning no more rear audio controls. When you do that, you loose the rear speakers...this is because the rear audio control is wired in series with the rear speakers...so when you remove it, you open the circuits to the rear speakers. So Dan asked me to fix it (of course :p: ) so I built the above picture. What i did was jump the 4 wires needed to complete the circuit and 'bypass' the now non-installed rear audio controls. also, i included a pigtail for the bottom cig lighter which is tied into the factory fused circuit. So there is that, lol. So hope it helps dan!

It sure will help. I found out a long time ago that Russell, for all his ego, knows what he is doing. :p:

I also started playing around with the subwoofer controls in my head unit. I had to change my shorts shortly after I had everything maxed out. :D Now once my rear speakers kick in it will be even more awesome. I am very pleased with this setup. I was considering a double din head unit...and still am, but for right now this is the best audio system I have ever had in a vehicle.

With Christmas around the corner I also hope to have some new goodies for Red Bull. :)

Finally found some time today to install Russell's wiring...um...thingamajig. Anyways, after finally finding the big plug buried behind the EATC unit, I was able to screw the plug ends together and then jam my hand into the dash to hook up the 12 volt socket. When I tested the system, it sounded so much better now that the rear speakers are doing their part. Thank you so much Russell!!

That it did. Damn thing kept us out in the cold for nearly 6 hours chasing down the problem. Dropped the tank put the spare fuel pump in, snapped an evap hose (thanks to kris for having a spare), installed the pump, put it all back together and the truck wouldn't start. Thought it was out of gas ( had an 1/8th in it before we dropped the tank) and used a hand pump and a plastic cup to get fuel out of the gas tank sitting in kris' garage into Red Bull. Still no start. Ran to the gas station to get more gas. Still nothing. Finally determined the spare pump was bad and started the whole process over again this time with a 3/8ths tank full of gas. With Justin giving me a ride we made a late night run to get a fuel pump (I had to be back at class at 9am the next morning) at AZ just before they closed. With Justin's, Russell's and Kris' help everything was back together and running at 12am which left me just enough time to get home and crash before class.

So yeah that pump should burn in hell.

Headed to the junkyard this morning to pick some things up. First is a set of good looking front door panels. These and the rear panels will be recovered in red leather to match the seats sometime next year.

I also tore into a Taurus door panel to get this:

Its a one touch down relay than I plan on wiring into the passenger side window controls.

Not a bad jy run and I got it all for $30

Just the leather part of the panel.

Russell, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. ;)
