My display went out like so many others here in the forum. I have a new CD/radio to install. Should I do it myself? Best Buy wants about $75 with "FREE" Installation. Plastic and wiring kit from Walmart about $17. Best Buy said that an amp needed to be bypassed. Any help or experiences that I can get would be appreciated. I know that wheel controls and 6 CD changer won't operate any more. Thanks in advance.

You don't need to bypass any amps. The only external amp in your truck is the sub so it is just plug and play. Go to Circuit City and get the vehicle specific/HU specific harness so installation will literally take minutes to do. Good luck!

I went this route and it was a relatively easy fix. Bonus is that everything works.
