As is known, the Ford V6 SOHC 4.0 is used in the Land Rover Discovery (LR3) and as parts are difficult/expensive shipping/import tax and vat, to get in EU, this may be an alternative...

Front timing cover gasket ROVER 4046702 Price (GBP) 1.77 + vat (http://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php/104536/0/gasket) *looks identical except for an extra bolt hole where there shouldn't be one compared to my 1998 Explorer.

Upper oil pan gasket ROVER 1025228 Price (GBP) 7.78 + vat (http://www.land-rover-parts-shop.com) took me forever to find this part number as many websites have the lower sump gasket part number for the upper and there doesn't seem to be any photos online of this part from ROVER. cross referencing parts on findpart.com for alternative manufacturers part numbers have this listed as the lower sump gasket incorrectly.

Lower sump gasket ROVER 4639173 Price (GBP) 14.37 + vat (http://www.brit-car.co.uk)

Lower Timing Chain Guide ROVER 4361284 Price (GBP) 3.76 +vat (http://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php/104573/0/lower_timing_chain_tensioner_v6_4_0l)

    ROVER 4345511 - BOLT - CONNECTING ROD Price (GBP) (GBP) 3.04 + vat (http://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php/104562/6521/bolt___connecting_rod)

    ROVER LR000616 - CONNECTING ROD BEARING V6 4.0L PETROL Price (GBP) 12.98 + vat (http://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php/148590/6521/connecting_rod_bearing_v6_4_0l_petrol)

    ROVER 4537629 - PISTON AND PIN ASSY 4.0L V6 DISCO3+4 Price (GBP) 26.23 + vat http://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php/104648/6521/piston_and_pin_assy_4_0l_v6_disco3_4

I will add more as I find them...Prices seem to be better and don't have to pay for USA shipping and no waiting 2/3 weeks and no import tax from USA...feel free to add any more for comparison!

I guess genuine land rover parts means same place where Ford gets/makes them? Don't hold me responsible for any mistakes! :) Maybe cheaper to buy from your local Rover dealer than these websites due to shipping costs, if you make any enquiries at local dealers please post the prices, but remember the official dealer may ask for the Land Rover VIN number which may be awkward :)

    your welcome!

at these prices I think I will go for a complete engine rebuild and take my old parts in to the rover dealer when the new parts arrive to compare before I hand over the cash haha

I fancy a rebore and new pistons/rings at these prices....

I wonder where I can get a new car badge EXPLOROVER :)

    these pistons look sexy!

To be honest mine is too thought I had the timing chain rattle however it was completely no from the alternator area turns out my alternator rear bearing had 2 MM. of play in it!!! And my idler pulley was about ready to drop off!!! Ran the engine with out these connected and it was a sweet as a nut!! They should all be back on in the morning so will have the first drive in over 2 weeks

    Hi all...
For what it's worth, am attempting the Ranger 2008 (4.0 V6) engine swap in a 2007 Land Rover LR3 and can assure you that there are some differences in the external tapped engine block mounting positions on the Land Rover engine block and the Ford Ranger/Explorer block regarding the engine mount brackets and the drivers side (North America) engine knock sensor (so far). Just a heads up... My posts are found here by searching LR3 or Land Rover, and still ongoing...
