your Ex is looking great! couple questions:

-Did you have your chrome handles painted or get other parts?

    -Are your rims glossy black?

Thanks dude. The dealer could have painted the existing chrome covers, but due to the preparation involved, they claimed the paint would not stick or the finish would be off. I got the paint-to-match parts, and they painted it Tux black--using the paint-to-match parts enabled the dealer to give me a lifetime warranty on the paint. My rims are matte black; sort of flat with a slight satin sheen.

I saw on the parts website that there is a black handle cover, which goes to the base model. Can I get that have it painted? What is so "special" about the paint to match part? seems more expensive.

The base model cover has a rough texture to it which, according to my dealer, cannot be smoothened and prepped adequately. The paint-to-match part is all smoothened, primed and ready to go; and my dealer would only give me lifetime warranty on the paint if I used that part.

So after much time, i'm finally getting around to get my handles painted. I was quoted about $700 for parts, paint, and labor! Does that sound right? Ripoff? Dealer said the paint job includes lifetime warranty. I was expecting to pay a lot, but not THAT much. ...or should I go to a third party shop for paint?

Yes $700 seems way too much to me, but the lifetime warranty could make it worth it. If the 3rd party shop will do it for a much cheaper price, and include a worthwhile warranty, then I would go for that. Warranty is important because the handle covers can be easily chipped or scratched during removal/installation if you don't know what you're doing.
