You dont think a 1800cc Yama can do 80 mph?

We have 1300cc that do 80+ everywhere here.

Built 1100 & 1200 that do 70+

800 that hit 65 mph

750 that hit 60 mph

650 that hit 55 mph

So yeah, if it is "Running right" I think 50 mph is doable.

Dont know about the 650 yet but the old old Yamaha cant keep up with the MasterCraft.

This old one.

The MasterCraft tops out at around 55 or so. (Without all the drunks on board). I know for a fact that the speedometers are accurate. We calibrate them to a hand held gps. This stuff all came with the boat when we bought it used, its part of the cruse control system, I think its called Perfect Speed or something like that. 80 mph on the water would be dam frightening, you would be seriously injured if you wiped out at that speed. I dont see why the bigger engines wouldn't go that fast, the snowmobiles have no problem hitting speed over 80. The MasterCraft is just big and heavy so Im surprised it goes as fast as it does. Once we get the MasterCraft in the water we can run the 650 along side to see what it will do. If it goes over 45mph Im putting a limiter on the carb. Like I said, the kids are fearless.

Ya but what are you using to get those numbers? My 800 ran good and topped out at 52 using a GPS. And that yamaha that I was riding last summer that said I was doing 80 was not even close to doing 80. The water was extremely rough. Like I said I was maybe doing 70 on that thing. I will get another top speed run on the new rebuild when I get it running again.

Forgot to add, I raced a 1994 waveraider 700 last summer and blew him out of the water. That was without my trim working. If it would have been working it would have been sad.

Here's mine.

This was last year, while racing in Beaufort, SC.

A little slower, but plenty wet!
