speaker/cd player model

I bought a JVC cd player for my explorer and was wondering if the model of the cd player (JVC) has to be the same as the speaker model that I am looking for.. for examply will a JVC cd player work with pioneer speakers... also what is the speaker size for a 93' ford explorer xlt? because I am about to buy some speakers also.

Any brand of speakers will work with any brand of HU.
