Hey guys,
I'm a new member, please go easy on me.
I have a 96 explorer xlt, my speedometer was acting up so I replaced the speed sensor. I did it myself because when I took it to a mechanic he tried to charge me 700 bucks to replace it, I told him he was crazy and especially seeing how it's done on YouTube and finding the part was only 24 dollars I did it on my own.
Simple job, one bolt, one wire. The problem is, is the little plastic spindle (not sure of it's actual name, couldn't find any info on it) did not come with the new sensor so I used the old one. It worked fine for about 10 minutes then failed again. Would somehow getting a new one of those plastic jobs fix the issue?
Thank you for any help you can provide on this issue in advance.
