speedometer is not working properly

my odometer recently stopped working, and so I replaced the worm gear but now my speedometer is not working properly. I feel that its saying im going faster than I really am, and when I come to a complete stop it will only go down to 20 mph. It was working perfectly fine before I changed the worm gear. If anyone has any ideas of how I can solve this problem I would really appreciate it thank you

It sounds like your cable is probably worn out and sticky.

no, unfortunately its not that simple. my speedo doesn't have a cable its all electrical. it has to be something I did when I put it back together after changing the worm gear
