Hi All,
I have a 2003 XLS with 179,000 on the original tranny.
Over the past month, I've noticed a sudden loss in MPG (about 2 mpg) and what I perceive to be a loss of accelerating power (which I assume is leading to a heavier foot, and therefore poorer mpg).
I also noticed about a month ago when I'm driving at HWY speeds ( 65+) and then take my foot off the gas, I'll often get a noise that sounds similar to a muffler going bad, but when I accelerate or maintain my high speeds, I don't have the same noise. No, this isn't the rear diff howl.
Any suggestions? I don't have any CEL codes being thrown, so I'm hoping that means its not the cat again (I had them replaced two years ago).
Thanks,
