supercharged 5.0 true fire 98 explorer sport

hi everyone, my name is tim . i live in selkirk, manitoba, canada and as if this date that i am posting this, i am 36 years old.

i bought my sport in jan 05 from a local ford dealer. it had 111,000KM's on it. this is the second sport i have owned. it was sitting on the lot for about 8 months before i came along. i am the third owner (i was able to track down the person that traded it in, and they got it from a friend, who bought it new in 98).

i started to do a few things to it after i first got it, then i found this site, and all hell broke lose! i've never been satisfied with something the everyone else has, so i started to tinker with it even more.

http://explorerforum.podbean.com/2011/03/23/19-vroom-zoomboom/

and you drive 26 hours ONE WAY to the carlisle all ford nationals in june 2010 and 2011, and grab second place in the s.u.v. all category!

then in 2014 you go back to the same show you have been to 5 years in a row (nothing by most, but its one hell of a long drive) and take first!

I'm sure the pmas will work.
If I can't figure out how to move the supplied maf transfer from the pmas in, we will use the BA-3000. I think using the BA-3000 will just require more maf transfer tuning.

cough
>>>>>Dart<<<<<<<

Ok so I lied. My MAF is a BA2600. My maf counts are around 790 @ 6,000 RPM, taken straight off of the datalog.

maf counts

I will be hanging on the edge of my seat waiting to hear what maf counts it tops out at with the new maf.
I find this exiting. I must be a nerd.

Double cough cough
>>>>{DART}<<<<

well **** just went south in a REAL big hurry!!!!
had to do some running around after work, and go to a friends house after work. i ran home, figured i would jump in evil and use it. me being me, i go to get on the highway, and nail it like i normally do....when....all of the sudden it starts miss firing BAD. i also look in the mirror and can see smoke (or steam). pull over real fast and it dies. get out, and i can see coolant pouring under the truck. normally i wouldnt care because i figured i blew out another block heater, but this time its from the drivers side, and higher up then the frost plugs!!!!!
when i try to start it, its not making a real good sound turning over either.
i am posting this sitting on the side of the road waiting for the tow truck....

Ohh noo!

Boom Baby.................Boom.

When you nailed it, did the rpm's go high, like 6000 ish?
I was thinking we should set the rev limiter back down so the maf can't peg.

My fear is that the maf pegged, motor went lean under high load......BOOM Head lifted. .....At least that's my bet.

I am thinking all kinds of four letter words right now.

So you know that the maf would peg, the tuning is not done, and you drive it like you always do? That's a no no. Stop it.

If I recall you have head bolts and not head studs, maybe time to upgrade.
I am hoping it is a simple fix for you, hate to see it when these cool street trucks break down.

had to go to dons and drop of some torque wrenches. tried getting there before he got home. when he got out of his car he looked real stressed, and started to riffle off a bunch of things trying to figure out what happen. when i said those exact words to him, the look on his face was priceless. his words were "i thought that was supposed to end at noon!!!!!!" lol

Evil

You better hope Evil is not mad at you for using her in your April fools joke!
LOL.
Poor Dono! His blood pressure must be high now.

Yup, I didn't find it funny.

I'll get back at Tim though (thru Evil).
I wonder how fast Evil will be with the whole timing table set at 0 ?

i was going to say something like i wonder if you'll figure out that puddle of oil that i will pour under your truck when its all back together and sitting in the driveway, but thats grounds for murder lol

Specially when that bolt does thru the turbo and out on to the street with bits of turbo. :(

See what this guy is doing with race fuel on his N/A 347?

510hp at 6500rpm N/A.

I really don't think a m122 is a good idea until you are serious about a dart block.
Then, the first project could be making an intercooled mount for the m122 on your current block.

I can tell you are going to keep going. Where's that <evil> emoji? I'm all in on this one! Love to see what you come up with.
