Tires out of balance?

Hi!

This may seem like an odd question, but what are the tell-tale signs that the tires on a vehicle are improperly balanced or just simply out of balance?

I had new tires installed a couple of weeks ago, and ever since then the ride quality of my Explorer seems to have worsened. I am noticing more vibration than I had previously. It may just be the difference in tread design on the tires, but it may also be a balance problem.

Any things I can look for that would be a dead give away to poor balancing?
