Hello all. I have a 2005 Ford Explorer that has a TPMS issue I was wondering if anyone had run across. When weather is warm or tires warmed up all is normal. When weather turns cold TPMS light comes on every time vehicle is started & remains on for up to 20 minutes. Talked to previous owner and she said she had same issue when weather was cold but all was normal when weather was warm. Has anyone ever run into this problem, and if so what is the fix? Thank you for any assistance that can be given!

Welcome to this forum! Each wheel has a separate sensor. The battery might have to be replaced. You would then have to reset them with a strong magnet such as a bar magnet from Radio Shack (catalog # 64-1877).

Have you actually checked the pressure in the cold weather when the tires are cold?

I'm guessing you could probably use a little air in one or more of your tires.

Check them cold and let us know what you find.

Tpms

Will have to check with previous owner to see if battery has been replaced. Have already checked pressure in all tires and all are set to 35 PSI.
