I bought a nice lit Ford logo'd trailer hitch insert, with brake light and turn indicators that plugs into the wiring plug at the hitch. Once I do that however, the Explorer thinks I've attached a trailer and disables the back up camera and I'm not sure what else. Any way around that.

I don't have an answer, but do have an additional question...

Does yours (or does anyone else know of one) work properly with the voltage detection and NOT cause a signal light fault to come up, and continual trailer connect/disconnect messages?

I've tried two different hitch lights, the first LED and the second incandescent, and both work with the running lights, but cause the vehicle to freak out as soon as I use the signals or press the brake. Somebody suggested installing resistors in-line to the wiring but I'd prefer a nice clean install.
