This is my first post so please bear with me. I have been having some transmission problems before like hard shifting and not wanting to shift, but now it seems to have gotten worse. When, I put my Explorer into reverse and press the gas slightly, the whole thing shakes and there is a loud "thunking" noise. I have a 2006 Explorer XLS with the 4.0L V6. I am asking if anyone knows what is causong this and if it can be fixed or if replacing the transmission would be cheaper and less hassle. Thank you in advance.
