I am thinkin about gettin turndowns, my car keeps on breakin the brackets on my duals and the pipes are rattling against my frame and makin the most annoying sound EVER. It is like the most prominant reason for my road rage haha. Anyway, i was thinkin about sayin screw the pipes and get some turndowns right in front of the rear axle. Just an idea, if any of yall have them tell me about them, or tell me yalls opinion about the whole deal.

ive got 'em. right in front of the rear-end, like you said. i have a 40 series flowmaster and let me tell you with the 5.0 it is VERY loud. the soundwaves seem to get trapped beneath the X and bounce between it and the ground. i believe even a 50 series would be loud with this setup. it also drones real bad from 1800-2600 rpms. @ 70-75 mph on interstate it seems to "pressurize" the inside like a big sub hitting one long low note... sounds good, but like i said, VERY loud. i plan to go with 50 series soon and dump over the rear end. hopefully, this will let me still have the throaty, slightly loud sound of a 88-95 stang without resonating so bad.

I am wonderin if it will be raspy bein that i have the 4.0, right now it is not bad at all, but i figured that the pipes helped to lower the tone some, i def. do not want a raspy sound out of them. hhhmmm..descisions descisions

It's also illegal to dump exhaust anywhere under the passenger compartment, which is the entire interior on an SUV.

Alec, is this federal law? Or is it just the law in certain states?

dunno. may be federal since the law is there to help prevent exhaust intrusion into the vehicle, causing injuries or death.

alec is right, and im pretty sure it is federal. and BTW, i have never had exhaust in mine. fact is, its not gonna get in unless you do alot of idling, and with the windows down.

      outback...

It's not even really legal to dump them out the back. From what flowmaster says, on an SUV, they have to be dumped out either sides if you wanted duals... not that I listen, but that is what they said.
