vortech build.....

so jds been nagging and nagging me to get away from not having any boost. he even set me up with contact info for a vortech kit, and after waiting for a month or so to get things straight with money, i bought it from a guy. he bought it used and never installed it. just reshipped it to me the way he got it. so i may be missing a few nuts and bolts.
hopefully a couple people on here can point me to what might be missing and any extra tips with it.
im gonna try and email vortech and see if i can get an installation guide or parts list.

so ill need new pipe boots, a couple are torn, all of em are used. and wrap the intake pipes.
engines gonna be stock compression 94 block, new pistons, maybe sohc pan, 422, 93tm heads with si valves, 988 springs, and bronze guides. ported and polished heads and intake.
jds selling me some 50lb injectors and an obd1 tuner hes no longer gonna be using.

but currently ill be putting it on, with just the heads mentioned and cam, as thats how it is now. throw premium in it, colder plugs, and maybe pull spout and see how it does

so anyway. the box......

Vortech has the instructions for this kit on the website for download. I used to have it but discarded it after not finding this kit used and decided to use the funds for other projects on my truck. That bracket goes to the AC mounts. There are a couple dowel pins to locate the holes and then the AC goes back on, then the blower.

The hoses are for lubrication of the blower. One goes to the valve cover for return, the other is fed from the oil pressure sender port.

Cool. Glad you got the kit. I hope the install goes well and performs to your liking. It's supposed to be pretty nice.

I'm pretty bent on a turbo right now, but the thought of buying a Vortech blower outright and fabbing the parts myself has flurted through my mind a bit as I research. In many ways its easier than the turbo with all the exhaust/intake piping issues involved with the turbo setup. Good Luck!!

You should do a write up on your install. I'd love to follow your progress to completion..

yea this will be the build thread.

this is the pdf for the installation: http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/images/15.pdf

so far ive got some hoses and bolts figured out.
im missing two 11mm dowels and a flat plate that are in fig 4-b.

the two bolts with nuts goto the missing plate in fig 4-b, the long one im missing three, they replace the ac compressor bolts. the small silver one i think is for the intake which i have none of those mounting brackets at all. and the rest seems to be unneeded bolts.

waiting to hear back from vortech on my missing parts. if theyre used in any other kits or not and can get me anything

This has been my plan for awile, especially since i dont have AC.i have plenty of room..ive been keeping a eye out for a nice head unit when i found this kit.i really need a larger head unit and having to make all new brackets,it just wasnt worth it so passed the info along to Xeek

How's your progress coming along? Any word from Vortech yet?

just sitting in the box. actually i forgot that they havent answered. they did initially, then i sent them more details and havent gotten an answer.
im not in a big hurry. ive got a lot of stuff going on. although i did sell another truck i had, so lots of money from that. except i need to replenish my savings and pay for a tooth crown with some of it.

most of my time is spent inside not dealing with the heat, and trying to track down this stupid electrical issue on my explorer
