First clue: During a couple of snow storms last winter, felt like tranny was intermittently downshifting. Occurred most often around 50-55mph and approx 1600 rpm.

Now feels like torque converter is intermittently locking/unlocking under light to medium load all gears. Feels like going over small bumps in the road or like an engine miss. Only noticed under a light to med load, during hard acceleration the trans works ok for a 5R55S...

Gas mileage is good (for the 4.6) Trans does not slip, and shifts well most of the time though it does down shift hard to first sometimes when decelerating.

Thanks

Thanks for the helpful responses! No check engine lights, but I think I might throw a solenoid pack at it before spending a lot of money on a new tranny. New plugs and COPs didn't change anything. Old plugs looked great.
