Hey this is just a warning I bought a USA SPEC Auxilary input from circuitcity.com for use in my 96 exploder. For various reasons I want to keep the install almost completely stock looking in this vehicle.

At any rate after selecting a 96 explorer with standard sound and auto set button this adapter does not fit as I do not have a cd/changer button. I ordered one specifically to work knowing I didn't have changer controls.

just kind of ticks me off but I figured I would share incase anyone else decides to do this for there I pod/DVD Player etc.

Will that work with the Mach 460 systems that have the CD/AUX button? I've been wanting to add XM to our Mach 1, but haven't been able to find any info.

    let me do some checking.

what year and model vehicle? its fairly universal it plugs in to the changer port(eliminating the changer) and just has two RCA inputs.

if its for the mach 1, the only one I see that would have the mach 460 sytem, it won;t fit I couldn't find an adaptor on circuit city.

    crutchfield might have something.

Yep, it's for the 2004 Mach 1 with the Mach 460 stereo. As I said, it has a CD/AUX button, but the AUX is useless without some kind of adapter.

    Or your local Ford dealer!

Correct me if I am wrong but Xm radio can be added to any system through the use of an FM modulator.

Rick check here, a quick google search for your Mach 460 sound system came upi with many Stereo shops claiming to have adapters for you.
Does your Stang Mach system have a CD changer or no?

This was the most promising link I found:
    http://www.myradiostore.us/auxadapters/pie/

If that fails you can always use an FM modulator
Meaning you tune your radio to like 89.7 and the XM will come in through that, only problem I have twith these setups is it is no longer a digital signal, it is analog.

My room mate has an I pod with a little adapter that plugs into the top of it, will broadcast whatever is playing ont he Ipod to a FM setting of your choice, VERY handy for parties, the boat, etc.

Any head unit that controls a CD changer typically has the ability to also plug into an adapter, which will give you a left and rigth RCA input. You can use for I-pods, Sirius, XM, walkman, your buddys battery powered keyboard, a microphone, whatever. Most stock head units are no different, it just takes the aftermaret a bit to catch up.

Good find Jamie. They have one that will work.

FM modulator is ok, if there are no other options, but I would rather it be hard wired. I have an XM Roadie in our Dodge. I really like it since I can use it in the house, in the truck or on my side with headphones.

no clue, I think with the frustration ive encountered im going to just go with an aftermarket head unit. I donlt beleive my 96 has an amp so it should be straight forward. after I return this adapter theres a jension with alot of good specs (better then most alpines) for 89.99.

but um its a jenson. not sure how cool I am with that and it goes against what I wanted to do.

Im using a monster rf adaptor presently it has some hiss to it for MP3's but it is somewhat bareable but for the DVD player its to much to bare.
