What Gauge wire.

i know this dosnt belong here but i count find the spot to add it to. so anyway i have a 1500 watt, 3000watt peak power power inverter and i wanted to mount it in my 02 explorer somewhere BUT i cant figure out for the life of me what gauge wire id need to buy to extent the little wires that are on it. it has about 2ft wires. so my question is. dose anyone have any idea what gauge wire id need to buy to extend it a bit? ty

How far away from the battery will you have them mounted?

i wanted to stick it in the back near the door but if i cant there i was gonna find a spot under the hood that would have enough space.

On a 3000 watt inverter, that means a peak draw of 250 amps. You would probably be fine with 2 gauge wire, but some charts put that at 1/0 gauge over that distance.

thanks this helps alot :) im gonna run to the store tonight and get some. ty again
