I was cleaning the engine bay on my 2020 Explorer and this little item trickled out onto the floor of my garage. I was cleaning the engine bay on the driver's side by the shock tower when this little devil tinkled down onto the floor. Any ideas? looks like it was mounted to some sheet metal when the car was painted.

I am going to speculate that that little plastic item is used during body painting process to hold the panels apart from each other, and is then discarded afterwards.

Agreed with the over-spray on it and not looking substantial it's a really good guess.
