Well the warm weather this weekend (60*) sparked some sales at the stores for meats. I got some New York Strips for half price, fired up the grill and had an awesome dinner!

Marinated NY Strips 12 oz each
Asparagus stalks sauteed in salted butter
    New red potato'
    Garlic TX toast
Big Ole glass of ice cold milk :)

    Marinade 'O' mine

Base is Extra Virgin Olive Oil....1/2 cup
    tsp chopped parsley
    tsp garlic powder
    2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
    1/3 cup fine brown sugar
2 Tbsp thick N hearty steak sauce
Secret ingredient.......2 Tbsp Chicago steak seasonings

Mix everything together with a fork (so it dont splash) in a deep container large enough to hold your steaks
Puncture the steaks with a fork a few times on both sides
Place meat in the mix, squish em around a bit, flip over to coat both sides, spoon some marinade over the top

Cover and place in the fridge for a few hours or better yet, over night!

Get that grill nice & hot, then lower the flames if you use gas like I do. Charcoal, push the hot coals a bit to the sides but leave some in the middle.

Sear them suckers on both sides, than cook to your likings. Remember they will continue to cook inside for a couple mins after they are removed from the grill! I use the push test to feel for firmness of the meat. Soft=rare....stiff=well done.

Enjoy that beef, cause that's what was for dinner! :)

Wicked recipe Gregg, I'm still undecided between chicken or steak so I might have both. I got meself a new barby back in August and could just count the days I haven't used it on both hands. I'll give that steak marinade a go tonight I reckon, cheers:chug:

That marinade was scrumdiddlyumptous Gregg. I had to substitute the Chicago steak spice with bog standard steak spice and smokey bourbon steak sauce for the thick 'n' hearty but jesus, it tasted bloody marvelous on spare ribs and the steak. Mucho bueno.

    Super bowl Appetizer!

    Mega Dip.

Not for the meek, but for the hungry fan.

Easy to make, guaranteed to impress the football gods!

Use a large glass/ceramic baking dish, I use a Pyrex 13x9 glass dish with a lid. I use a silicone spatula to spread layers evenly.

    Layer these Ingredients as follows:

2 packages of cream cheese-spread even on bottom of bake-ware
    1 can of re-fried beans
1-2 cans of your fav hearty chili, -I use Campbell firehouse
1 sm can of diced green chilies
1 12 oz jar of salsa-Pick your heat
2 cups of fine shredded Mexican blend cheese

After everything is spread in even layers, bake in the oven for 20-30 mins at 350*
Watch the cheese, and remove to your liking at the end of cook time, as likes vary here.

Serve with tortilla chips, Doritos, what have you. Sides of sour cream, & Jalapeno for garnish.

    Enjoy! :)
