Stereo Integrity Magnum D2 or Resonant Engineering. Kicker also isn't a bad choice, but IMHO is not as good as the others.

alphasonik puts more funding into looks rather than engineering, but isn't a bad sub as long as you dont overpay.

Can this REALLY be asked?! Hmm...anyway...I've got both DD and Elemental Designs...and for SQ...the ED takes the cake. For RAW power...Get the DD!!!!

i think you could get a RE XXX 10 for that price... well never mind... heres "your limit" based on price..

      RE8- $49
      RE10- $59
      RE12- $69

      SE10- $149
      SE12- $169
      SE15- $199

      SX10- $239
      SX12- $249
      SX15- $269
      SX18- $309

      XXX10- $359

but yeah id say go with either: RE (for SPL), Adire(for SQ), DD, Rockford Fosgate, or Kicker Solos

personally ive never tried them, i wish i would have, i would of possibly saved myself $280 that i spent on no name subs, i asked a sales person at "Frys Electronics" if the subs will hit the low bass notes without distorting, and he said "probably not" so they lost my sale

*edit* i wish i would of tested them because they were on display, but i didnt have the right cd to test the low notes

One sub not mentioned would be an IDMAX. If you're going for SPL I would go with RE or DD but for more sound quality purposes, I would either go with Adire or ID.

RE gets my vote...although DD is bloody amazing.

adire makes some great products aswell...i hit 142.2 legal at the dash with a single adire audio tempest 15 in a large ported box with 400 watts rms out of a trunk. Oh ya that was witha 27hz tone.

I would put a kicker in it. I think Kicker is best sub out and can get a good price on them. I have one 10inch kicker sub in my Mountaineer and hits better my buddies 2 12inch Jls, and my other buddies 2, Rockford Fosgates.

kicker makes many different styles of sub.

saying that 1 10 kicker in one setup is louder or sounds better than 2 12 inch JLs in another setup doesnt make them better. 90% of the sound reproduced is in the install, mainly the enclosure the sub(s) are in

      i own an infinity

its much more of a SQ speaker than anything, the bass is sharp and the clairity is perfect, and on pitch, but if your looking for a hard hitting pound, not your thing

infinity perfects can hit pretty hard. a common bang for your buck setup a few years ago was two perfect 12s and a JBL 1200.1

the first batch of perfects had some trouble at high power levels with the glue holding the VC to the cone...but the batches since have used different glue so this is no longer a problem.

i can get you an entire system ( minus headunit ) for less then $400. Sherwood amp, 2 12" kickers in box.

probably the best amps on the market for the price is Audiotek. 800 (true) watt amps for 200 bucks and they just as good as any JL amp

be a man, rig some klipsch speakers up for your ride
