I have a viper alarm system installed on my 01 explorer. Eariler today I went to remote start the vehicle and when I did it didn't start but kept making a grinding noise continuously, which I assume was the starter. I stopped the remote start and it continued until i put the key in and turned it and it then cranked. I then drove it home to test it again, now it won't do anything. When I turn the key forward no lights come on or anything, the alarm/remote start will also not do anything. Battery voltage is fine, cables are tight.

Sounds like it could be the ignition switch. Any ideas?

Thanks

Update: Found that the maxi fuse for the starter is blown. Replaced it, blown again. Swapped starter relay, still blew the fuse.

This thread probably better fits under "Under the Hood". Could a moderator move it please?
