won't start

I have a 1994 explorer Eddie Bauer that won't start. I was gone for 1 1/2 weeks and when I got back, it wouldn't start. I used another truck of mine while I was away. It just clicks. I cleaned the battery connections and tried jump the solenoid next to the battery, and nothing. Somebody told me it might be the starter itself. Can they go out if the truck sits for awhile?

Did you charge the battery up? You can also try to tap the starter with something. If it's stuck from sitting that may loosen it up. Check the connection to the starter as well.

You may need to clean up the terminals on the starter. When they sit for a while they like to get extremely dirty.
Also I had my bronco 2 do the same thing turned out the battery couldn't take a load. It would charge up but when you put a load on it, it would kill it.

if you let it sit for awhile the radio has a memory and so does the computer. next time put a trickle charger on it.
