    Yaesu FT-8900R install

:D Finished my Ham Radio Install :D

I have been very busy today.

I just finished, installing my Yaesu FT-8900 with the head
mounted remotely, didn't have to drill a single hole, either.
I mounted the antenna a Diamond HV-7A on the driver side
back edge of the hood, doesn't even come close to the
roof, when the hood is open.
My external speaker is just to the left of my tach.

Then, I installed the Racing Pedals with the matching Heel Plate.

Then, I did the Fog Light Mod.

I love the way it all came together.

Sorry for the poor picture, 15 year old Poloraid Camera. :thumbdwn:

But, the film was new... Only 10 years old.

    Film? What's film?;)

Nice installation. Looks very clean. Is the 8900 a dual band or an HF VHF/UHF rig? I haven't picked up a catalog in ages!

Nice install, and choice of rigs!

I did the same thing with the control head for my IC-208H back when I still had it installed. I use it in the house far more than I ever did in the truck, so it's staying inside for now.

How do you like the 8900?

I have an FT-90, but I am looking to upgrade to a unit with more capabilities and I was thinking of getting a 8900 and modifying it to MARS CAP and Free band.

My FT-8900R works flawlessly. I have not, nor do I intend to modify it in anyway, shape or form.

The Amateur Radio Band Plan works just fine for me.
