Came across a 1997 XLT. Working electronics including sunroof. Approaching 300,000K running strong. Previous owner had installed a new radiator, new belts, new shocks and struts, a semi-used transfer case, and kept it running on synthetic oil only. I am impressed with how smooth it still runs. I seem to have avoided the timing chain issue by replacing the tensioners. Front and lower.
Here is a list of jobs done to this thing.
Replaced broken door handles.
Installed new headliner.
Installed new ball joints.
Installed new evap purge valve and hoses.
Installed new rancho shocks.
