MY EXPLORER --
Just thought a quick update on my popped head gasket...
BLUE DEVIL GASKET sealer did the job...no overheating; no leakge; no water in engine anymore.
Of course, it also helped:
Took out bad oil...put in new oil, filer, etc.; changed all spark plugs; new belts; new water hose; new thermostat -- water and coolant circulates like it should...no more CHECK ENGINE LIGHT on; took it for a test drive -- 400-500 miles each way...out and across CENTRAL CALIFORNIA VALLEY to NEVADA STATE line on hot weekend...then up to LAKE TAHOE -- NO OVERHEATING, NO LEAKAGE.
I studied my butt off on ALL possibilities; weighed pros/cons of doing it my way.
When I have extra cash, I'll get the head gasket replaced correctly; since I plan on keeping this 1998 EXPLORER for anotjher 3-4 years.
