  • Having some issues with the heat on my 2001 Explorer Sport Trac. Here is what I have checked.

    1. Pulled the heater hoses from the heater core and flushed with garden hose until clear.
    2. Checked the heater control valve on the return line from the heater core. It has vacuum and opens and closes correctly.
    3. Looked behind the glove box to see if the blend door opens and closes. Works fine.
    4. With the heat on and the fan off. I turned the temp knob and could hear a slight bump when turning the knob to cold. No sound when I turned to hot.
    5. Checked the temperature of both heater control hoses. The inlet is slightly hotter than the outlet hose.

    What am I missing guys?
