Retired, sort of, needed something bigger than a Frontier(Nissan) to tow a utility trailer here in the countryside of PA (just moved here from Cali) for getting firewood, compost, mulch, Home Depot, and whatever. Found a used 2003 Explorer XLT 4WD V8 that looks like it will do the job. With 129,000 miles at purchase, will need some attention, and right away I found this forum when searching for help with the first fix: "door ajar" when it wasn't. Fixed. Signed up. First Ford since a used 1977 Courier/Mazda I drove for about 17 years commuting. Not a full-fledged car guy, but can follow clear instructions. Will run stock most of the time.

From what I've seen so far, this forum looks like a great place for an Explorer owner to explore.

Next upgrade: class III towing kit, right after the radiator's slow leak.
