  • The springs we have are Deaver custom longer than stock x and if mounted in the stock front perch the axle will be moved back 3",5", or 7" depending on mounting. Also they were designed to mount on the out-side of the frame rail (using Ranger mounts) and over the axle. They have extra flex that is why the wide mounting location. Soft flex springs mounted in the rear can cause bad sway problems so mounting them wider is like putting a sway bar on the back and a very common racing trick still used today for leaf spring suspension. Just like me to keep it simple although more work this set-up work very very well. Let me know if you have any questions.
    Well, I heard you and Paul had a few sets of custom springs lying around you won't be using. Might be able to mix and match to get the ride height for the rear I want when I go SAS. Should be sometime this summer, I hope.
