The springs we have are Deaver custom longer than stock x and if mounted in the stock front perch the axle will be moved back 3",5", or 7" depending on mounting. Also they were designed to mount on the out-side of the frame rail (using Ranger mounts) and over the axle. They have extra flex that is why the wide mounting location. Soft flex springs mounted in the rear can cause bad sway problems so mounting them wider is like putting a sway bar on the back and a very common racing trick still used today for leaf spring suspension.
