I have a '91 Explorer EB. I recently replaced the motor that drives the left front window.
I used one of the Dorman window motors with the plastic case.
I installed the motor with the window all the way up, but the first time I put the window down, it would not roll all the way back up.
It comes up to about a 1/2" short of the top and at this point I can hear the window motor clicking loudly.
I have looked it over and it seems to be installed correctly.
It this a problem with the Dorman motors, or did I do something wrong?

If you give the window a bit of assistance (pulling up) while pressing the button, will the window rise higher/completely?

It will not. There is no problem will the motor having enough power to raise the window. It just gets to some point a bit short of the top and it starts clicking. It will go no higher

If it won't go any higher while assisting, and stops in the same position each time, there is likely a physical obstruction.

Try checking the rail at the bottom of the glass for an obstruction like metal from drilling out access holes to the motor-mount bolts.
lubricate both rails.

Which motor did you purchase btw. Link?

lubricate w silicone, cheeck for any restriction
