update.

new coil harness built. looks way less complicated then the one i did.

as mentioned, he was able to wire it using only one driver, not 2. i had also thought he was going to wire it so the driver was in the cab, and not under the hood. nope. he put the connector that i chopped off back on. i however might go and wire it so its in the cab and not under the hood (couldnt really fid a good spot for it.).
he has also tested everything and it now tests good. he will be boxing it up sometime this coming week and sending it back up to me.
funny, other people have had my terminator x system as long as i have had my terminator x system.

as for the holley system, there is some wiring i will have to finish. jamie, you wouldnt know anyone that knows how to wire a stock tack in to make work would ya? lol i am going to shorten the trans harness down a bit, way to long. might shorten the O2 sensor as well (maybe) tune it, and then find the next weak link (or i hope not). i also have to or want to put in a oil pressure sensor in for the terminator to read but i will also still run the aftermarket on i have in the pillar pod, as well as i have my old wideband still in the truck, but it was attached to something i took out and is now just flashing. i want to keep it because its on one bank, and the holley is on the other. i also have a pressure sensor for the trans that i would like to put in, i will just have to see where it will go into.
i had a header leak on the passengers side (was taking with Dono today about that actually) that i want to fix because
1 its annoying AF
2 it will throw the tune out
i have a idea where it might be. worst case, i have a spare header here i toss on.
i bought a driveshaft loop for it year before last that i never did get around to doing.
i might have to change the front rotors, they dont look soo hot (and they are almost new to)

thats the list o stuff that i would like to do, but chances are the moment it fires to life none of it will happen loil
 






so everything is on its way home now. YAY! ive owned it for a year now, i have had it in my possession for 6 months, and 3 different people have had it the rest of the time lol.
so as i am awaiting its arrival, something else came.

that white fluffy crap.
mothernature gave all of us in southern manitoba one hell of a *****slap yesterday. i think a foot of snow fell in around 16 hours. they are also calling it to be 13C or 55F next Wednesday. i hope so. there wasnt even a flake of snow on and around evil the day before this.

my harness that has gone from here to idaho to missouri, then kansas and finally back here! thanks again jamie (@410Fortune) for having a look at the harness and finding a problem with it, and thanks jon (@Turdle) for having it shipped to you, then up to me.

all the snow melted that we got a few weeks ago. i can now see ALL of my yard again. no water either. was able to start on things for a bit after i came home today, didnt get to far because it is a little cool still so i will have to try to do some more tomorrow. just dont want to break any clips with it being cold out and all.

oh, i almost forgot.......andy.......@ahodges........i need to thank you for something as well.......

LOL. we had snow flurries he yesterday after it was 83 degrees on Saturday! On the bright side, it's only a 60% chance.. ;)
 






Snowing here this am, but I’m in north Idaho so totally normal. Mostly green grass and sunshine lately! Been taking advantage of the nice early spring weather

like i always have said $hit in one hand, and have hope in the other and see which one gets filled first.
well, i guess i shouldnt go off the deep end just yet. i managed to get everything back together so i can try and fire it. the wiring is a mess inside, but i will get to that once it runs.
weather still isnt great, but we escaped a major snow storm last week so that did help, cool or cold weather isnt. now i get to deal with rain as well......
ok, enough crying. as i said, i have it back together now. not remembering what the tune is set at, or what changes i did since the last time i figured i would try it. sounds like no spark again. i will have to hook the laptop up to it (which reminds me its as dead as the winnipeg jets chances at the stanley cup, nother story, nother time). there is a setting in where you have to tell it where your trigger wheel is, i need to recheck that. as well when danny fixed the harness, he did it so i only use one coil driver, but wired it with 2 plugs. i am going to plug the driver into the spare plug and see if goes or not. and lastly, i have read that these holleys are finnicky with their voltage. i had 12.2v at the battery, and thats with it sitting all winter outside. i have it charging at the moment to it will have a fully charged battery when i try again.

no red lights. the yellow just means it sees that the truck isnt running.....duh. and the blue means that it is seeing a gap on the crank (between teeth). once again, no biggie.......for now.....
 






todays update. i text the guy (his name is james) who was the first guy to try getting evil to run. hes more of a chevy guy, but has tones of connections and also knows a lot of people. luck had it he was home, and after a short phone call, evil was on a flat deck to hes place. once it got there, i showed him what it was doing. after turning it over, it starting if you want to call it that, him controlling the throttle at the throttlebody, then it dying he had a smile on his face and said "i know exactly what that is because my truck was doing the same thing. its not getting enough fuel. i will look over the fuel trims and start there".
so evil is going to do a sleep over at his place for a few days. i told him i didnt doubt if it took him a couple of weeks. but its at his house. he can pick at it here and there when he has time verse him having to come here, we both make time and go from there.

so after many swear words, spark plugs, changing gas soaked oil, countless begging, and a year the inevitable happend



so today james and i had time to work on evil. james has a life, and has been busy at it. he has entered 2 cars for miles of mayhem (canada's drag week) and didnt want to keep him from that. we were going to work on evil Thursday but i ended up having to work a double shift. so we set today as a day to get something done.
it started off by us looking over the injector harness. it still sounded like the fire order was off and the only other thing that changed was the harness.
nope, all good. then he started changing anything and everything he could think of in the tune. still would run like crap and also get a cam syc error. we (well, he did) make sure the motor was timed correctly (you have to do it 180 out) and it was. he then had a thought, and that was to look as the crank sensor. you have to have a certain gap between the sensor and the reluctor wheel. i set that with the spare 347 because it also had the same damper made by the same guy on it.
however....
i can kick holley tech in the no no place because i remember asking them this. the crank sensor also has to be so far from the center of the wheel as well. to far forward or backward and it will give you grief. james found that out the hard way once with motor that ate a thrust bearing. mine looked like it was too far backward. so he made a 1/4 inch plate and put it in pace.
you have your end result above. there was tears flowing, and it wasnt from gas fumes either. it is running now. we had to stop with the tuning because he had to take his kids to their ball game, and also we figure all 8 arent firing because some plugs are fouled. i shall head there tomorrow, change the plugs and let him start tuning it. i know there will be bugs when tuning and after, but i am happy that it runs after waiting close to a year.
don, your trucks curse almost had a grip on evil....
 






Way back when James was remote tuning my 347, my egr was held open due to tune turning on vacuum to egr constant, it sounded exactly like that.
 






Different James lol. I could be wrong but I don’t think Holley has a egr spot for tuning. That and evil no longer has a egr system in it and pcv goes to a puke tank now as well

forgot to update this (been busy with work, and its now hot AF up here) changed all the plugs on it last week. they were done. horribly black and smelly. put new ones it. it ran a little better. james was playing around with the fuel trims and a few other things. he said it sounded like it had a miss, and i know if he started to give it gas, it would break up a lot, and backfire. he had mentioned he had a cut off wheel explode on him at work, even with a full shield, and glasses, he thought he got something in his eye. at one point we were tossing ideas around when i looked and told him he better go to the hospital because he has terminator eye. texted him the next day and he had to get a x ray done on his eye then go to a specialist later that day. havent heard from him since, i know he was going to take his truck to the track this weekend for tuning, but i dont know if he went for sure or not. at this point tuning once again may be on hold, but i will have to wait and find out.
 






I hope your friend james is okay, that is scary to think of any eye troubles.

ya, ya.

i messaged him last night, then called him today. he got back to me saying he is going to get on it tonight (because it has cooled down up here). he still thinks there is a missfire, but will check things out.

trust me, i want it back and in running order so i can fix the other things that i know about.....and find things i dont know about.
